Good afternoon Neighbor! If I may take just a moment of your time, I’d love to share something truly inspiring with you. Well you succeeded. 😂 I don’t need a new notes app though, I have Obsidian. My forever bae.

Fist my bump.

i wish i could quite obsidian. i think it might be a coercive relationship. unfortunately everything else sucks worse.

how freaking hard could it possibly be to support markdown files. of greater than 28,000 words. with a live wordcount. and access to the actual system folders???

I’ve never felt the urge to find anything different since Keep works fine for my short note taking needs. What does Obsidian and Jotty do that might be worth looking at them?

Literally everything.

Where Obsidian genuinely wins:

You own the data. Notes are plain .md files on your disk — readable in any text editor, in 20 years, with no vendor in the loop.

No ceilings. No character limits, no label limits, no note-count problems.

Real structure. Folders, tags, [[wiki links]], backlinks, and graph view turn isolated notes into a network.

Extensibility. Plugins let you build a task manager, a photo catalog, a daily journal, or a Zettelkasten on top of the same vault.

Desktop-first. Native apps on Windows, macOS, and Linux, which matters if you’re at a keyboard all day.

Fist my bump.

jotty doesnt have plugins at this time but is PWA, and uses a flat file system (no DB) and it also partly compatible with obsidian things
